Navin Kundra was invited as a guest vocalist to sing on one of the biggest shows on national television, BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.
The “All Around The World Week” special opened with a spectacular performance of a Bollywood inspired dance supported by dance group, Bolly Flex. The show’s producers contacted Navin’s management to have him appear on the show and authentically deliver the Bollywood songs which were performed live by the Strictly Come Dancing Band, directed by Dave Arch.
Navin and the professional dancers performed ‘1234’ from Chennai Express and “Jai Ho” by A.R. Rahman and the Pussycat Dolls. “I was absolutely over the moon when I got the call to appear on the show! Then I realised I would have to rap in Tamil for one of the songs…that was quite a challenge because I don’t speak the language, but opportunities like that don’t come everyday so I rose to the challenge”, said Navin.
After the performance, show host Tess Daly thanked Navin live on air for singing and since his appearance, he has been congratulated by leading figures in the Music Industry and Media and is now gearing up to release his new single, “DANGEROUS” on Thursday 4th Dec 2014.
