On Wednesday 26th March, Navin received an Award for his services to charity at the Sewa Pioneers Awards held at the House Of Commons.
In attendance was Prime Minister David Cameron along with other MPs and esteemed guests, volunteers, affiliated organisations and celebrities. The Sewa Pioneers Awards, hosted by BBC London 94.9 presenters Sunny and Shay, recognised the participation of 75,000 volunteers from the UK and 25 other countries on the international day of ‘selfless service’ Sewa Day 2013 (7 October).
Navin became an ambassador for Sewa Day when it was first set up in 2010 and has since participated in several affiliated projects as well as encouraging a new generation of volunteers to get involved in offering sewa.
Navin commented, “I’m truly honoured, thrilled and pleasantly surprised to be awarded as an Ambassador for Sewa Day at the House Of Commons. It’s true that you make a living by what you get, but you make a life by what you give and that’s the essence of Sewa Day.”
